Summary of Speech
Clinical Use of the Forsus Appliance From A to Z
Indications, Application, Effects and Possible Complications

Non-compliance devices that do not require patient cooperation in the correction of Class II malocclusions during fixed orthodontic treatment have gained a lot of interest from the clinicians in the past decade. Alternative aids that depend on patient cooperation, such as elastics, headgear or Carrere Motion, cannot guarantee treatment success in the clinic as much as fixed functional devices. In 2020, it has been shown that at least ¼ of orthodontists in the USA prefer the use of fixed functional appliances. Among the various fixed functional appliances, the Forsus appliance is used most frequently. In this presentation, the use of the Forsus appliance will be explained, its comparative effects with other devices and possible complications that may occur during use will be discussed.
